My laptop's volume is not working on my applications except windows media

player. How do I fix it? My laptop's volume is not working on some applications except for Windows Media Player.
This happened when I installed an anti-virus program called Kaspersky Internet Security 2010
and then had a virus called "virus Net-Worm.win32.kido.ih". Help! I can't play games without sounds!
