...inspection. A week later he? My land lord wrote me a check for my full security deposit after he did the inspection. A week later he
canceled the check stating his new renters complained of damage, what can I do? I did not give him my forwarding address, I keep reading in legal information you need to give your forwarding address but we closed on the lease the same day of the inspection, we were done. He walked through the house with myself and a friend, did a thorough inspection and wrote me a check said it looked great, 30 days later I get a notice from my bank that he stopped payment. I had checks bounce and it was a large amount of money and I am still trying to play catch up financially. I Have not heard from him at all. He has both my phone numbers and email addresses but heard nothing. I just sent him an email asking for our money back and he is claiming that there was damage that his new renters noticed that he wants to charge me for and that he sent me a letter a week later to that old address, of which if he really did this it should have gotten forwarded to me like my other mail. What can I do? Can he charge me for something after the inspection is over, after all the proof that he was ok with it was the security deposit check he wrote me that day. What are my legal rights?
