I have replaced my 1987Jeep Wrangler water pump twice with the radiator also...still have very hot indication and no evidence of water circulation when i checked the upper hose(out the engine)...what could be the possibilities that preventing water from circulation? note that, when engine in idle water circulate(kind of normal) but it won't if it accelerates...

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee, 4.0L and have experienced the same type of issue but so far only when in idle for several minutes or traveling at a slow rate of speed for awhile. I too replaced the coolant, flushed the radiator and the thermostat. It is definately a circulation issue as I do not lose fluids and have discovered that it is necessary to replace the coolant return hose (if it is still factory one installed) as they had metal linings that tend to clog with rust particles. This explains the fact that there are moments when engine remains in operating heat range but will sometimes overheat. It's the damn in the hose so to speak. It's an inexpensive repair but could save lots of time & $.
