They is a million and 1 things this could be. With new jags, The car i run by sensors rather then old fashioned mechanics now. You probably have some sort of sensor goes down that realises the gearstick. Your best bet is to go to a garage and ask them to put a diagnostic computer on it to detect the problem! This will save you so much hassle and money.
