My Iphone 3G screen is completely white?

I have tried all the restores and updates. It did not work. Has anyone else had this problem? The tech guy told me to bring it to the Apple store which I will do. I have heard that they charge a pretty penny to fix it. Does anyone know anything about this?
 
yea i heard i phones Suck no offense but i here stories and to me i would NEVER get one but thats just one opion
