doesn't fit in our car. help? my husband's car is a 2001 toyota corolla ce. this stupid (but lovely) car seat doesn't fit. the only way to make it fit would be to remove the front passenger seat (or leave it in but not clicked in to a position). how is this possible? are we just not doing it properly? wouldn't the box say if the seat was only for vans or larger vehicles? i think it's too late to return it but i feel awful that we can't use it (at least until baby - who arrives in the world next week - is over a year old).

has anyone else had this problem? did you return the seat? has anyone talked to eddie bauer and gotten a good answer (we're going to try calling them tomorrow)?

any info/suggestions would be great. thanks :)
no, it's not part of a travel system. or at least we only have the car seat part. it's just one of those seats that goes from newborn to like 8 year old's booster seat.

First of all, the seat just has Eddie Bauer slapped on the side- it's made by Cosco--the most notorious car seat company for bad seats and recalls. It's a horrible seat--people seem to like it at first because it's easy to adjust, but the problems start from there. The straps are so slippery they twist like crazy and are then not safe to use. Next, in order to get the seat into your car safely, you'd have to pull the cheaply made latch connectors so tightly that they actually make the cheap plastic frame of the seat bend. Again, not safe in a crash. Then, the seat says that it's harnessed to 40 lbs, but most kids outgrow the harness slots before they are 40 lbs. Then, they say it can be used as a booster, but it's a pain in the butt, and doesn't actually cross their bodies in the correct position.

You couldn't pay me to put a kid in that seat. SO not safe, but because it looks comfy, is easy to adjust, and has Eddie Bauer slapped on the side. I'd return it and get a Compass tru fit---the top half of the seat comes off when in the rear facing position so it should fit in your Corolla with no problems at all. Plus, the straps don't twist and it's a much better seat. If that doesn't float your boat, go with a Britax--those are the best!

Maybe you are installing it wrong. We gave one of those* to my sister-in-law, and she was able to fit it into her Hyundai, which can't be much bigger than a Corolla. Calling Eddie Bauer is a good idea.

we have the exact same 3 in 1 and we have an aveo hatch back its like the Pontiac vibes and it is defiantly smaller the your car we have ours installed in the middle of the back seat with no problem you should get someone to help you install it
