deployments have nothing to do with the job you have just with the unit you are in. cooks deploy too.
posts again have nothing to do with scouts. i recommend posts such as fort lewis, wa. and fort carson, co, the best the army has. out west its just better.
IMPORTANT: plus if your husband is in a stryker unit, that makes his job different than if he is in a light unit in hawaii. scouts in strykers will do overwatch and generally hoof it less than the poor bastards humping all that weight up mountains in afghanistan in light units like 10th at fort drum ny and 25th in hawaii.
your husband will be safer than others by being in a smaller less visible, better trained platoon doing missions of recon, overwatch, qrf. te enemy goes after the easier targets, supply, and other visibly easier targets, not sme bad @$$ scout pointing an m-24 at them winking through an a-cog.
youll be fine. just read my paragraph under "important"
go to ako account and volunteer for fort lewis (we are deployed right now) and your husband will move with a stryker. trust me, plus he might only be deployed for 6 months to iraq...i cant really say more, good luck.
