My horse's old owner used to feed him hay while he was tied to the trailer. I have him on cross-ties in the barn while grooming him. He tends to dance around a lot and paw, he gets very impatient and I end up rushing through the grooming because he seems like he just wants to get it over with. What can I do to make grooming more enjoyable for the both of us? I tried tying him in a stall and he is worse and moves around more. I have tried not tying him at all and he just walks around in circles then to get away from grooming. Besides grooming time, he love to be loved on, but as soon as the brushed come out he tries to avoid them...
My horse doesn't seem to find grooming enjoyable, what can I do?
