I was at a red light when my Odyssey shook/sputtered suddenly. As I started rolling the engine light started flashing....flashing faster as I picked up speed. It didn't die but there is now a definite sputter to the engine.

There was also a definite sudden smell of burning rubber. Like maybe a belt snapped?

This happened during the 5 mile round trip to drop my kids at school. The highest speed I reached was 40mph.

This van has aprox. 68k miles on it.

I would love some suggestions on what this could be so I have a heads up on what I may be dealing with.
Should mention, this is an automatic transmission.
Also, it's a 2003.

well to start i would take it to autozone or advanced auto and have them run a scan this is free as for the smell of rubber burning i doubt its the belt unless you see the belt is broken. next is not sure what year you car is but a few years back they went to a new OBD 2 in the cars that makes you take it to the dealer to have it cleared. because you vehicle wont get up to speed it could be the coil pack. but try the scan first
