My Honda Accord won't accelerate ?

I recently purchased a 2000 Honda Accord with aprx 180,000 miles. I immediately got an oil change, tuneup, and alignment on the car. Yesterday I noticed the car was smoking from under the hood and took it back to the mehanic. I was told I need a new radiator and I had a small oil leak. The mechanic but some liquid in a bottle that is suppose to slow the oil leak and told me to come back on Monday to get my radiator fixed. I left the mechanic and went to Advanced Auto Parts to find out why the lights are so dim. He told me the fuses were fine did not need to be replaced.
Now here's my problem. I turned on my car and put the car in reverse and it wouldn't move! I had to push the gas hard just to get it to move. It drives fine once it gets going but everytime I stop it won't accelerate. I couldn't even drive over the hill to get to my house I had to get a push! Also my check engine light popped on! What is going on with this car? Did I buy a lemon or did the mechanic do something to my car? It was running fine all day and now I can't drive it. Does anybody know what is going on with my car?
