in the tank i recently set up for christmas, my guppies are dying at a rate of over one per day... i set it up with various ornaments and two plants (one lily and one fern). it said in the instructions not to use a air stone so i did not... i have been feeding them goldfish flakes. on the second day that the fish were int he tank , i lost one (as i watched it, it seemed to be being lazy ad hanging around the filter away from the rest, eventually it got to a point where it was hardly holding itself up in the water and just lay at the bottom of the tank breathing slowly). i have used all the appropriate conditioners, tap safe, and aqua balance. bbut i have no-idea why they are dying. i have lost 3 already and they are all females.
