My mom just got off the phone with my dad's side of the family and said my dad's dad (who's not in the country) had some health issues and was at serious risk.. and/or still is.
My sisters and I have grown up knowing we will always be distant from my dad's side of the family because of personal reasons. However, when my mom said that she isn't planning on telling my dad about his dad having health problems because she knows he will worry too much, lose sleep over it and have it affect his work.
I suddenly feel a little angry. Not at my mom, but in general, that our family is so complicated that this has to happen. My dad has the right to know, doesn't he? Is it in my place to tell my dad about his dad having been in serious danger because of his health? What should I do?
