My Gold Fish are jumpy.?

to the point that I do not want to frighten them. Fred has lost some of his gold coat, how do you think he lost it.

be for I enter the room they are both at the top and when I enter the room they jump and head back down to the bottom . I give them their food in the morning and turn the radio on when I talk they jump so I try not to talk to them and I also check on them every few minutes.

They seem contented but I would like to know when will they start to trust me. And when I bought Fred, he had some of his gold coat missing do you also know how this could have happened.
