My girlfriend and I were discussing baby names & neither one of us were...

...pregnant. I told her what my husband? and I would name our daughter, if it was a girl. We have it all picked out - it will be Olive. Her and I were discussing this because my husband and I are trying - I saw her two weeks later and she found out she was expecting her 3rd (total surprise). Now she is 4 to 5 months along. I just met up with her last week and we discussed baby names again and surprisingly if she has a girl it will be the name I picked. I'm a little upset - we are not pregnant so I guess we will just have to pick another name but it makes me mad. Anyone had this happen? Any advice?
 
That isn't very nice of her to steal your name idea like that. She may have liked it before but then why didn't she say something when you mentioned it. You will just have to either have a second Olive or pick another pretty name and keep it quiet.
 
I have had that done to me also, but turns out after the other person used the name and I heard it more and more I didn't like it. So it worked out for me. You will come up with a different name that you love just as much. This time don't tell anyone what it is. Good luck and I hope a baby is in your near future.
