I just bought a gameboy color from a kid on craigslist, i love them a ton, i had one when i was 8 and my little bro accidently lost it. So at first i thought that the sound was broken, and i've read alot of help questions about people asking how to fix theirs so i figured it was a pretty normal thing, plus this one is used. Then i looked at the model number CBG-001 so i figured that meant it was one of the first gameboy colors, and i think when i got mine that it was the newest model at the time (if several were made) plus it was brand new. So i thought that the CBG-001 must just have quieter sound because at one point i could hear the beep of the gameboy turning on but it was really quiet, but then i couldn't get it to make that sound again so i just thought it was broken. Now i've been playing with the dial, trying to tune in like with the radio just to see if it would work, and i got it to make sound around about the middle of the volume dial. It won't work at super quiet or all the way loud, but it works in the middle. Otherwise if you put your ear right up next to the speaker it makes a really quiet fuzzy sound. I'm playing a gameboy game in it not a color so i thought that might be the problem but my little sister's gameboy advance is doing super loud sound on the same game just fine.
So i was thinking maybe its a loose wire or something since it does work partially. If anyone knows how to fix it that would be awesome and thanks. Also what is the little plug in near the headphone jack labeled DC 3V IN and it has a bunch of little symbols near it, what is that for?

P.S. Please don't comment on how i should just expect problems cause it's old and used or how i should just get a PSP or something. I had a PSP (traded for ipod touch) and it was great but i like this better (fond memories, plus LOVE Nintendo). Also i was resigned to the sound not working but when i got it to work a little i thought maybe it will be something simple so i should just ask.
