For the last few weeks, Ive been using so much fuel that I can see the gage dropping as Im driving in front of my eyes. And Im not talking about after driving 100 miles. When I am on the highway, I can feel a very faint sputter and at the exact time I see the gage dip and the needle goes significantly down.
I bought the car brand new, and haven't changed the spark plugs. So today I bought 6 new NGK laser iridium's (was surprised to take out denso's, thought they were ngk's but oh well) The car has just over 115 thousand miles on it so I am crossing my fingers and hoping that this will fix the problem. When I took them out they actually didn't look that bad, so this makes me nervous.
There is no fuel filter on the vehicle per se, and my air filter is ok. I will put my car to the test tonight and see, but when I took it around the block and drove as fast as I could I think I may have noticed it drop a little...
As soon as I get out of work I will put it to the final test. If this doesn't fix the problem, what other problems may I have?
