ive seen the way he treats his books. he like kicks them and puts them on the ground and doesnt care who steps on it. Now he wants to borrow MY book. i love my books, and this happens to be my favorite book. i keep on telling him i forget, but i cant use that anymore. Whats a good excuse?

Just say " i dont want you to use my books" haha i dont know... yeah i would never let no one treat my books like that! just tell him no lol..

Try saying that you promised to lend it to someone else and in the mean time you can recommend that he borrow the book from the library. If he pulls the "if you're really my friend card" then you could try getting him to exchange something of equal or greater value to him and explain that you want your favorite book back in pristine condition. Good luck and hope your book gets through this!

Tell him NO and why. He is a jerk to think her can abuse your book and your "friendship". If he will abuse a book he is not your friend. Always remember they can only take advantage of you if you allow it!

You'd be doing him a favor by telling him the truth. Just say- I take very good care of my books, and I notice that you tend to be very rough on books. Therefore, I really would prefer not to lend you mine. If you can say that, you'll also be getting good practice for the future- when you have to communicate with a spouse.

You don't make excuses you tell him the reason why. Tell him that you have always taken care of your books, and you have seen how he treats his books and you do not want to loan your books out.And leave it as that.
