My friend is obsessed with his cellphone!!!!?

He brings it to school just to show it to people and be "cool". I hate it and it's really annoying. If I try to tell him to stop, he'll just say "you're just trying to be cool" or "you're just jealous because you don't have one" , and no I am not. I think that they're just a waste of money and time unless you NEED to use them.

PS: Sorry if I'm, ranting on about my problems, I know that there are plenty of VERY more important things than this, but I need some help.
 
Accept the fact he's one of the millions of people that love technology.
You say you have better things to do than play with a phone, surely you have better things to spend your time on rather than complain?
 
tell him that if he texts too much his thumbs get really bad arthritis. (its partly true) or just accidently smash it with a hammer or throw it into a pool ahha
 
the best thing to do... and i know this is obvious and a kinda corny i guess but just talk to him or make it seem like your mad at him for it my now gf but when this happend friend pretended to be mad at me and i felt really bad because i really liked her i appologized a bunch one weak later everythings fine and i didnt say/do what i did since then
 
what i would say to him is "why do you always bring your cell to school it's not like you need it here and what if you break have you thought of that."( now i know that sounds way harsh) now then based on what you told me he would probally say "why are you so jealous?" then you should say it's getting really annoying when you show of and brag about you cell.
Then from there i have no idea what would happen next.
