Bad or incorrect RAM will cause random crashes and reboots that get worse when the system is under load. Whoever installed the new memory in your computer should have run a diagnostic on that RAM before even attempting to boot your operating system. That is very basic computer competence.

Download a memtest86+ ISO and burn it to CD. Boot from the memtest86+ CD and let it run for several hours. One error is too many.

If your RAM is not 100% reliable, your computer *will* crash. Worse, crashed from bad RAM can corrupt your operating system installation. A computer with RAM that is not 100% reliable should not be allowed to boot an operating system installation that anyone cares about.

This is basic computer stuff, and I wouldn't trust anyone who upgrades RAM without testing the RAM in the computer it was installed in. That just shows that they don't care about your data.

Bad RAM corrupts data gradually over time.
