My friend got his car in an accident, can he drive it home?

He bought a car about a month ago for 1800 dollars and its a 1998 nissan quest.

He got in an accident today and his hood is damaged. It doesnt open, his bumper is damaged, and the driver side window is cracked.

The car turns on, runs and everything is fine, the bumper and hood and stuff is just damaged...

The car is sitting at a gas station about a mile away, could he drive it home without getting in trouble with the cops? like is he allowed to drive home a damaged car?
 
well... Its against the law to drive a car that doesnt work as it is supposed to. I would drive it home and explain to an officer if you get pulled over.

Wait a minute.. Shouldnt have there been a cop at the scene? did you hit a inanimate object?
