My friend, Gianna get's SSI due to Aspergers Syndrome, and ADHD and she wants a job SO BAD! Her family's been telling her that if she get's a job, shell lose her benefits. I don't know how much she gets a month (cause it's none of my business), but she wants go get a part time job. She had work experience in high school for like 2 in a half years. I have aspergers and I don't get SSI. She get's put down because people keep saying that she's not capable to work. I think she is, but at times she has a hard time paying attention. What should I do?
I thought that when people get SSI Disability, it meant that people who are mentally disabled, can't provide for themselves. and are low functioning are unable to work. Why is high functioning learning disabled people getting SSI? I don't get it. Can somebody explain this to me?
What is SHE gonna do if people are telling her she shouldn't work because of her benefits?! She can't just sit around all day!
