My four year old daughter (5 in august) refuses to learn to read and write. The school have tried to get her interested but with no luck. She refuses to do her worksheets given and will only look at books if someone reads them too her. She's fine in all her other subjects if someone reads the questions out and writes them down. I asked her why and she didn't answer and when i asked if she was scared she just said yes and asked if she could go and play.
Her mother died when she was 3 and a 1/2, would this be a factor in it as she used to read her stories at night and try to get her to join in?
I read her stories now but she wont join in no matter what.
Any suggestions on what i can do?
