my ford ka's heater is blowing cold air?

my ford ka was blowing hot air and you could not turn it down on looking we found that there was not heater valve under the bonnet,. so we put one on but now the heater is blowing cold air but the water in the engine is getting red hot he has since removed the valve to how it was but still have cold air in the cab and red hot water under the bonnet any ideas you good people ????
 
It would seem that hot water is not getting to the heater matrix or the air flaps are not moving to where they should to flow the incoming air over the matrix. Maybe in messing with the valve, and who knows why you would need a valve to do this you have disconnected or broken something.
 
Your head gasket needs to be replaced.

I had the exact same problem with my car. The engine was overheating and the heater in the car wasn't warming up. Check your oil if it has white stuff in it this is another symptom

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it cost me €550. This was in Ireland for a Fiat Punto so it may be cheaper for you but they are expensive.
 
well first most cars now do not have a control valve under the hoods they are inside under dash
and might be thermostat stuck open or heater core plugged feel heater hoses wil tel it the flow is going thru both hose hot its good replace thermostat follow top radiator hose to top of motor remove hose and two bolts

You probably have an air lock. Loosen the heater return hose just enough to let the air out and then tighten it back up. Be careful that you don't get burnt when doing it.
 
Sounds to me that the heater matrix has had ts day, i had a similar problem with the engine overheating, if it is overheating keep an eye on the coolant level you don't want the engine to seize, you might also have a split pipe this can be fixed temporarily with a glass solution from your local motor factors, otherwise it is a full day job to replace the matrix at a local garage, a very expensive repair.
