my ford focus dies at idle but only happens about 1 day a month. any ideas?

Hi, i have a 2001 ford focus 2.0L dohc. great car. but has a intermitent problem about 1 time a month it will die at idle. last for a few hours at most but is a issue i would like to take care of. does anyone have a good idea what to check? I tried cleaning the Egr valve and it seems to be good. i cant seem to find the Idle air control valve. i know what most look like i just dont see one where i think it should be. any ideas and help would be great. thanks
 
with my car, it use to die on idle whenever i didnt keep i revving for a while.
it turned out it was my PCV valve that was broken. its cheap.

could be the same problem with you, doesnt hurt to check it out...
