I'm trying to write something on a picture. I select the font I want and I put it to 72pt which is the largest font and is too small you can barely see it... I downloaded a bunch of fonts to see if that would work but no... can anyone help me?? I just want to write something cool and big on a picture.

My fonts on photoshop are too small?

just type over the number, you can do that too, you dont have to use the drop down menu
Your resolution or inches may be high. Go to Image> Image size (Mac or PC) and then look at the ratio.
If you are printing put your resolution (DPI) to 300
If you are making this for the web put your resolution (dpi) to 72
Then make sure your inches are what you want.
You can also type in your font size and are not limited to what the drop down says. (I never even use the drop down!!!) Best thing about photoshop (vs indesign or illustrator) is taht you can just use your scroll ball up or down when you click in the box and it will shrink or grow for you.
If you do change the numbers lower your picture everything will get smaller so resize your window and zoom in again. The font size number will have also gone down so you can now adjust to the size you want again.
