My fish vanished!!! No idea what happened?

Just this morning I saw my betta fish and his tank. I kept him alone there, the tank was 1 gallon. Later that day my little brother tells me that the fish is missing. I go investigate not believing him. I looked everywhere.

I stuck my hand inside and moved the rocks around until I saw the bottom of the tank in each corner. I kept looking inside his little house, but saw nothing. Finally I got the house and shook it just to make sure and still there was nothing. I must of checked the tank 5 times. Also I always keep the lid on at all times because I am paranoid that he would jump out.

That rules out him jumping out. I asked my entire family and none of them touched the lid. This is a mystery I have no idea what could of happened to the fish not a trace looked all around the floor. Nothing.
 
Well, I'd check all around the floor around the tank just in case. Bettas are good jumpers, and if a family member took your lid off during the day he could have. If you have a cat, that means it could be eaten or anywhere in the house by now.

Otherwise, I'd suspect that perhaps he croaked and a family member flushed him and isn't saying anything. A dead fish decays pretty fast (can be gone in a matter of days) but wouldn't have decayed in hours like that, especially if this fish is in a bowl without that current.
 
eww. this happend to mee before... maybe if you have a cat , dog, bird or something but i found out that my little sister ate it she was like 6 eww. but check in the filter too.
