My Fish Tank is making a weird sound?

It sounds like a coffee maker brewing. Is something bad happening? Will the fish be okay? HELP
I checked there is plenty of water in the tank.
 
Do you have an air pump sitting somewhere on or near the tank?
I find when mine is hitting something solid it makes an awful noise. Also check the "drop" from the filter over flow (how far the water has to go before hitting the tank surface). I have one filter that if the tank is even 1/2 inch low on water it sounds like a big waterfall or an old coffee percolator.
