water changes? i have cleaned out the media in my filter last week and it still the same. my fish seem fine at the moment and all my tests are normal too. i only do a third water change as advised
it is an established 200 litre tank with 24 fish
Stop doing what your doing. Your stressing your fish and you might loose some in the next few weeks. Since you cleaned out the filter, the tank is cycling again. So just be patience and this is just a mistake of many amateur fish keepers. no offense
You need to let the tank stabilize again. What kind of water are you using? (ok wet where's it come from?). To stop the build up of hardness and chemicals from the tap water I use water from my dehumidifier, which is like distilled water but a lot cheaper to produce.
Start doing ammonia tests and only if the ammonia builds up do your water changes, not more than 20% at a time, but as I said I use distilled water. Get some activated carbon into your filter, that'll soak up excess ammonia while allowing your filter bacteria to start going again. Nothing drastic.
do not do any more water changes it is disturbing the natural balancing that needs too happen for it to stay clear. Just leave it alone for a while it should clear on its own i grew up with fish tanks every were my mom had several 150 gallon tanks
