Last night I purchased 2 new gold fish to be put with my old 2 gold fish. I introduced them and they were all fine and swimming together.
This afternoon I came home to find one (Archimedes if you want his name) in the corner away from all the other fish,
I fed them and observed. The other 3 ate well, Archimedes ate 1 or 2 (maybe even 3) flakes and spit out some little pieces a minute or so later.
Both the new fish came from the same tank at the pet store, but only one is acting this way
What's wrong with my fish?
1) I have 2 filters running, one is for my tank size (it wasn't working so well. It's functional but I'm using gauze for a strainer while the missing piece comes in) and a smaller one for about half the size of my tank
2) The man at the pet store told me I didn't have to quarentine them because none of their fish were sick
3) It is a good size. I have 2 gallons for every inch of fish. 2 of them haven't grown much in the last 4 months. If the new ones really start to get too big, I don't mind getting a larger tank.
