My fish disappered in my tank can anyone help?

my mom wont belive me and three of my fish disapperd. i looked in the tank and under all the areas to hind i cant find any of them anywhere. there not in the filter no remands at all they dissappered. the fishs are a green tiger barb and 2 head light tail light tetras and i cant find them my other fish (before they dissappered) are another gt barb and hltl tetra 3 cherry barbs and 3 algea eaters the 1s that stay small. anyone that have had fish dissapper can answer plz
 
Other possibilities - if there is not a cover on the tank - some fish are jumpers. We've had a few fish in the past jump out.
And if any fish died for any reason, some of the other ones may have eaten them.
I am not familiar with your type of fish, so I don't know if one of them could have eaten the smaller ones - like the tetras getting eaten by the bigger fish.
Also one last question - you don't have any other pets that like to fish do you? Like a cat. My brother had a guppy tank which was undisturbed for years by the cat and then the fish started disappearing. It remained a mystery - cat not suspected at first because of years of peaceful coexistence - until one day the cat which apparently was sitting on the edge of the tank to fish fell in. Mystery solved.
