My first S60 phone should be ....

Right now I have a SE W810i, and its been nice having it but I want something new and fun. With the recent launch of the N95, I really fell in love with the phone based on reviews and photos only. I dont have anyplace nearby to actually see one, or try one. I also am not crazy about the price.

Since I have never owned a Symbian based phone before, I am wondering if its a mistake to jump into an N95, or should I get my feet wet on another model? I dont really want a flip phone, rather have a slider or bar phone. I also would like to get a better camera than my W810i's. I really like the idea of WiFi in my phone, as inside my house I get lousy cell reception, and it would be nice to just transfer my calls to VoIP over WiFi. So far I am looking at the following (in no particular order):

1) N95
2) E65
3) N80
4) N73ME

I like how the E65 has the active standby screen, but not entirely sure if the N series has this or not. I also realize the N73 doesnt have WiFi. Overall I would like to have a phone thats similar in size or smaller than my W810i, which for the most part all four of those are close to the same size as it (N80 a bit thicker, N73 a bit taller).

So to all youw Symbian / Nokia experts, how would you proceed? I dont care to wait around until early '08 for the rumored N81/N82 phones, but those could be a nice upgrade path, as could a price-reduced N95 later in the year.

Well its more that I want to get a Nokia phone. I've had WM5 on my Qtek S200, but I dont want a PDA phone, and havent really seen many WM5 smart phones that I liked. A big option on the N95 I like is the 5 mpix camera.

I would go for the N73 (not N73ME) since I like bar form factor and it's the cheapest of those 4.

You could always flash the N73 to the latest N73ME or N73IE firmware.

I just bought an used N73 on eBay and am in the process of selling my T-Mobile MDA (G3 with SIM/CID unlocked).

I just was looking at some new prices on versions of the N73, and the ME is a $30 premium over the base or IE version. With that being the case, does it really matter which version to get (unless going for a particular case color)? Doesnt the ME get you a 2GB miniSD card, where the others get nothing?

i have an n73 me. before i bought it i was looking more at the n80, but its a little fat and doesnt look as good as the n73. As for the wifi, i wouldnt really use it on a phone.
the n73 has really loud speakers and a better camera...on top of that its more stylish.

n76 looks good.

i have the n80 and the wifi feature is pretty fun to use. especially if your bored in class. i log on to ebuddy and msg ppl on msn.

So the concensus seems to be the N73, cool. I will probably opt for the ME just because it comes in black and has the 2GB card in it, and I cant buy the plain N73 and add the card any cheaper. Seems like this is a good choice for a first S60 phone, and also a nice starting point to step up into the N95 at the end of the year (although it can already be had for $700 new, damn tempting!).

For places to buy, are Import GSM or Hi-Mobile reputable places? They both are selling ME's for the same price as NokiaUSA's plain N73. I didnt see the ME on Nokia's USA site for sale.

Flips are out of the question for me. Besides, I lived in an Edge area that wont be 3G for a very long time. Actually suprised I even have Edge here.
