my first cellphone

Hey there, I'm looking for my first cellphone and I kinda don't know wich one to choose...

I absolutely need bluetooth and a way to write down notes and/or reminders

An mp3 player would be nice but not an absolute necessity.

I live in Quebec, I'd like to know wich company would be best too. I don't plan on getting a contract, since I won't use it THAT much.

I need it to be able to write stuff because I always have like 4000 pieces of paper in my pockets with all sort of info on it. so I'd like to replace all of those papers with one notepad lol. and the bluetooth thing is to configure it to work in my car.

I like the styling of the sony ericsson.. is there one of their phones that meet my requirements?

thanks for your help!

uh... i have no idea what you just said. aside from that baby talk **** gibberish im guessing you should look into the K750..

I thought it was clear.

I have TONS of papers in my pockets to keep track of my meetings and stuff like that.

need to replace it with a cellphone in wich I can write those notes.

thanks for your input

well yeah, I guess so.. I'm quite new to the whole cellphone scene ..

I was looking at the nokia e-70 and I find it quite nice..

the sony ericsson p990 is quite interesting too...

I want a quality phone, not too fragile and fashion is not really important.. BUT if the cellphone is good looking and durable, well I will take it..

yes, the E70 is nice...buy mine! Nah, but anyway, either of those phones are good as is the Nokia E61 and I guess even the standard Blackberry would do the trick. I have the Hiptop2 (wouldn't work that well with you since it has no bluetooth) and I find its great for writing down some quick note so anything with a good QWERTY keyboard and notepad application should do.

How badly do you need a scribble-pad? Being in Canada, you probably want to have something that's Quad-band (uses both 1900 and 850 freq.). I would highly recommend Motorola's Ming. That being said, it's available in Asia only. You'd have to buy it online and have it shipped to you. GREAT little phone and not even close to being as pricey as the P990i.

Be careful of what you're looking for. What do you NEED? and how much are you willing to pay for it? The P990i you'll also need to purchase online because they're not coming out with a North American version. I just bought one. It's a great unit, but the firmware's not great yet. Has a tendency to crash.

If you're only looking to use your phone seldomly, I'm guessing you're not emailing much on the go either. That leaves Blackberry out of the question. Only reason anyone would GET a blackberry is to be able to email on the fly.

Nokia's E70 is a great unit also. Although i personally don't like the way they've changed the interface on it.

Anyway, since you're going to have to order E70 or P990i online anyway, I'd still recommend the Motorola Ming over either of these two. You get quad band for better reception, you get a scribble pad, and you get your bluetooth, and you get to play music.

that's a nice suggestion!

I do need a scribbler like you say.. as long as I can take notes with it.. that and the bluetooth are top priority.

mp3 would be nice

camera really not necessary

size doesnt matter

and looking to pay between 500 and 1000$ MAX CDN$.

Welps, take a look at what you're looking for.
It seems to me like you want a PDA with a phone function and not a phone that has PDA function.
Apparently I was wrong, and the Motorola MING is being sold in Canada, but under a different Monniker (don't know what it is).

For $1000CAD, you pretty much have your phone of choice. My suggestion is still the MING. For YOUR needs, disregard all information about email and stuff since you will need a full contract with phone companies as opposed to your pay as you go contract that you're on right now. If you ARE looking at data packages, you might want to see if the phone you're going to buy supports EDGE technology. Since we don't have 3G here, I suppose EDGE is the closest you'll get.

Bonne chance,
