My first bike

Hello all,
Been a while since I posted but I got my first bike and have been riding for a little over a month. I bought a C50 and love it so far. I bought it on good Friday and rode it home in the cold, it even snowed on me a little, that's weird for TN. Had some friends that were going to take me on a ride to break it one day and we ended up at garden of the Gods, which is in IL, two states away. It was a 14 hour day of riding. WHAT A BREAK IN RIDE!! Have had a couple of problems with bolts working loose but nothing major. Also made a ride to Reel foot lake too. I need to save up and get my windshield and saddlebags put on, but that should come in time. would love to work on the sound of the pipes but that's more money and I don't really know what I'm doing to drill or knock out the baffles, any ideas would be great!

TN,

What a "Great Break In Ride", my friend!!! You certainly have "Humbled" me. I picked up my new S40 on 8.May.2007 and to date have put 200 miles on her riding locally. I really thought I was doing OK till I read your post. I need to get serious (LOL). TN is a pretty state and I'm sure you'll get some great rides in the Smoky Mountains. I visited a company (Ten Tec) in Sevierville one time and that was certainly a scenic area. My company has a plant in Johnson City, and I get there on business occassionally. Ride Safe and God Bless ............ Rich
P.S. I have not ridden in years. Took the MSF class last Fall and am really enjoying the S40. I could not have made a better choice. The machine and I are fast becoming "ONE" ....

It really does look better without the shield but I kinda like the looks of mine with it too and LOVE IT while I'm flying down the highway especially in the rain,,,,

Don't forget the light bar too!!!!!

Nice ride! I have the same one in Navy and Silver. A cheap way to go regarding louder pipes would be to debaffle them. Basically you would drill them out. It is very easy to do. It should take you about 30-45 minutes. Check this site or on the Web for the video on how to do this. I did it and sounds pretty good. Good luck and ride safe.
