My fiance is wearing his Dress Blues (Army) at our wedding, the girls are

Dark Silver-What do the grooms wear? I guess I covered it in the title; however. My problem..and it is a BIG one! Our wedding is a little under four months away and we can't pick out what the grooms should wear at the wedding!

My fiance is full time Iowa National Guard and is wearing his dress blue uniform, the bridesmaids are wearing pewter (dark silver) and carrying purple roses. (our colors are purple and pewter).

What color can the groomsmen wear without washing out the bridesmaids or looking funny against the dress blues?

I am not a fan of black as I do not think it will look right against the blue, and I cannot seem to find anything in a light silver for tuxes, which I think would offset the bridesmaids well enough and look good next to my fiance.

I tried to find a gray tux, and the only ones I found are too dark (would look funny against the girls, and also look out of style...may as well have the patches on the elbows!)

oh boy. This debate is going round and round in the family and I can't find anything!!! Do you know of anything we can do?

I know you said you don't like black, but I do think it would look nice. However, the other option is the gray suits. Surely they can find you a nice lighter gray suit! Have you tried only one tux shop, or several? While one may not have them in the color you want, another shop should have them.

This might not be formal enough but what about just blue sport coats with white pants and a silver tie?

I'm not sure... maybe try going to a place that rents tuxes and just take the dress blues and ask if they have anything that will coordinate with that?! I haven't seen any online but surely they exist?!
