My facebook chat always says Chat (0)?

Everytime I sign into facebook my chat says Chat (0). Even though I know there are people on cause I can still talk to them through the wall and messages. Also sometimes it will change to like Chat (25) or whatever and then when I click on it, it goes back to Chat (0). Please help!
 
The only thing I can think is either your internet connection is too slow, or you are using too old of a browser. Try getting a faster connection or new browser.
 
It might be putting your status as "Offline". To switch it, click the chat bar and there should be a way to undo it. If that doesn't help, I would contacting Facebook and telling them about your problem.
