Help I'm confused!!

The builders painted my kitchen for me and the main walls were done in Magnolia so they said and it's a yellowy cream colour.

When I look at Magnolia in the Crown or Dulux colours they appear to be a pinky cream colour. B&Q seems to be a yellowy cream!

So what colour is Magnolia ?? I'm probably going to do the hall walls in the same colour as the kitchen so need to get it right - also I don't want pink!

I'd just ask the builder exactly what paint he used if you want it all to match.

I have found with each different paint make the finish/sheen is slightly different as well as there being disparity in colours.

BTW, Google Magnolia tree and you get a lot of pink images returned, with the odd yellow one putting in an appearance.

Magnolia paint is usually a yellowy cream as its one of the most common colours for the flower, there is also a magnolia tree though which is a pinky cream, but its not usually labelled as magnolia when its used as a colour for paint.

Indeed I've always thought of it as a yellowy cream but if you look on the dulux and crown websites for magnolia they will show a pinky cream colour! B&Q show the the yellowy colour for their magnolia though.

I've never in my life seen pinky magnolia and I've seen a lot of magnolia! It should indeed be a slightly yellow cream colour. Having said that you CAN get pink magnolias! So maybe it's a new thing...

He thinks he used Dulux and it was definitely magnolia. I will go to homebase or B&Q and have a look in person I think. I wonder if my screen is showing the colour wrongly!
Dulux magnolia
