Today was the last day of middle school. He stuck a note with this poem in my locker at the very end of the day.
He's a year older than me, so he's going to high school and I'm still going to be in 8th grade. I'm wondering if that's what the poem is about.. or if he's breaking up with me.
"The Unofficial Goodbye"
The farewell to a period of time
Is what I'll explain to you in this rhyme.
Like a chapter book, you must turn the page
Especially after the whole scene up on stage.
Tears will be shed, some for no reason,
For it won't take long to see them next season.
Is it goodbye, like a play's intermission?
Or just another fearful loss-like superstition?
Goodbye for now, is what I'll say,
Yet I'd much have joy and prefer to stay.
Please help!!!
