My engine light on my 02' Ford Focus came on and the car is not accelerating over...

...30mph. Any Ideas? I have a 2002 Ford Focus and the car has about 75000 miles on it. While driving, the car stopped accelerating and wouldnt go passed 30 mph. The car sounded like it was on neutral actually... the engine reved but it wouldnt speed up. The engine light also came on....

any ideas?
