I just started to work for this company, they told me I would be an employee but then a week before I started told me I'd be an independent contractor and receive no benefits ( which by the way I left a desk job which I had worked for 4 yrs where I had insurance and guaranteed pay). So I worked my first week and turned in all of the paperwork they requested and I was supposed to be paid 10 days after I turned that in. I was informed by them and some of the employees that it never takes 10 days to get paid more like 4-5. So I waited and they never paid me, it is now officially been 13 days since I turned in my paperwork and I keep trying to contact them but they never reply or write me back when I send them emails. When I went in for the interview they told me that none of their employees have had a week off and that the same would apply for me, so I would have constant work. Well this has now been two weeks with no work and they won't tell me why. The people who trained me all requested for me to be partnered with them since I knew my stuff very well and got things done. I'm just getting really concerned and a bit scared. I'm getting married soon and am trying to provide me and my future wife better opportunities in life. I just don't know what to do now and feel very lost and degraded for being lied to and leaving a well set position to go work for a company who seems to be filled full of lies. Please help me.
