My DSL keeps dropping out. All I end up with is power and ethrnet lights

on. Also I have a hum on my phone lin? if i remove power for a couple of mins and plug back in I have internet service for a while.
 
Try replacing the phone cord from the wall jack to the router. Or you may have a short in the wall jack it self. Unplug the cord from the wall jack, all wires in the modular end should look gold in color, anything else, you have a short. Does your filter need to be replaced?
