he keeps gaging and keeps running to go outside and when i let him out he wont stop eating grass and come inside.

Maybe he has some problem which he's trying to correct by eating the grass. My dogs alway go around looking for grass when they are not well.

He is eating grass because he is sick. Dogs only eat grass to flush out their system to make them better. A dog usually eats the grass then vomits it up, so he can get rid of everything in his stomach. He may have worms, or he ate something bad. Other signs of worms are: 1: Bloated stomach.
2: Pus in the eye.
3: Eating all the time and always hungry or his hunger decreases dramatically.
4: Scooting his bottom across the solid surface.
5: Worms or white stuff in his poo, or blood and grass.
6: Maybe eating grass

If he ate something bad, he will be flat, looking sick, goes off his food, eating grass all the time and vomiting and possibly pale..

I suggest you buy a worm tablet for the dog and if the eating grass doesn't stop, then he ate something bad, but if he ate something bad, the symptoms should clear up within a day or two. If it doesn't stop, then you should take him to the vet.

I hope I helped.
Good Luck.

Eating his veggies is pretty normal behavior, the nasty part of it that it makes them puke a little sometimes. It's not bad for him it just sucks cleaning up after it.

Hi, I don't let my dog do this as there are generally pesticides on the grass which can make your dog ill. The reason dogs eat grass is to make them vomit, your dogs stomach is proberably to acid for it and it is feeling unwell. It is not nessesarily a bad thing that your dog eats grass but if there have been pesticides on the grass it can make them very ill. If my dog starts eating grass, I make sure he has plenty of water and is not eating anything but his dog biscuits for a few days to see if that settles it. If not it could be due to another problem, if your dog eats the grass and then vomits, it could cause teeth erosion and gastric problems. I give mine garlic pills and dry dill in their food to keep their bowels healthy.
It can change very much with the dog, if yours is a collie it is proberably due to stomach issues as collies have tender stomachs but if it is an american bulldog like mine it proberably does it because it is feeling un well or just likes to watch you go "EWW REX DON'T EAT THAT!!!" or something along those lines.
Anyway, I haope this has been helpful.
