My dog smells like fish.?

Why does my shetland sheepdog smell like a dead bass? We bathe him weekly. Please help its horrid.
okay I lied we bathe him once a month..i just didn't want people to be like your dog is dirty.
and no I don't live in by a pond. hahaha
 
its probably his anal glands. take him to a vet or groomer and they will empty them. you bath your dogs once a month. my 5 year old retriever has only had 1 bath in her life and she isnt dirty
 
If the smell is coming from the back end, it's probably his anal glands. A vet or a groomer can express them and show you how to do it..if you dare. This is quite common but must be done from time to time.
