My dog likes to eat fish?

Hi,
Oh My, you have a dilemna? Your dog is a dog; they eat small wiggly things. Fish jump. Goldfish too. A screened lid would save the day; but, IF Fido decides to eat his fish, he will knock it off the shelf and break it. Fish don't like the openness; that is why they HIDE, when something approaches them. They like to be SAFE. From Fido!
Use common sense....put your dog outside, in another room, take Fido with you....all when you are NOT home. When you ARE home, teach Fido, NO. If you use a 1 page newspaper, wind it up - loosely - and smack Fido, gently on the nose when Fido approaches the fish, the noise of the newspaper will scare Fido. Only do it when you see Fido near the fish, not just looking at the fist; but going for them to eat them. In time, Fido will not do that anymore. Oh, and there NEEDS to be a Dog Cookie, Biscuit or Dog Chocolate for Fido's good behavior.
When Fido goes away with your command, a treat. When Fido, stops a treat. When Fido looks at the fish and doesn't move, a treat. When Fido doesn't care anymore, a treat. This means YOU have to have treats in your pockets. All day long. A treat and a hug; show Fido you are pleased with HIS behavior. Eventually, you won't have to do that.
You can also clap your hands, very hard and loudly; that will scare Fido and toss Fido's head back, like a change of mind....then give a treat. AND a hug. This is behavior modification for a disobedient Pet.

Fido only wants the fish because it wiggles and catches his attention, and if Fido kills it, he has conquered something, and made your life more SAFE. Dogs are hunters. Just like men. You should understand this already?

Now, next time you buy some fish; like Tuna. Let Fido have some of that. Or not? Tuna is salty. Fido will learn to enjoy only that fish. Tuna has softened bones in it too. Make it a treat for both of you. Tuna and crackers. Dogs love crackers. Pet, love on Fido as you eat; and always end with a treat and a big hug; Good Fido. See.

Fido might just love fish in general. This Tuna treat will tell a story; IF you listen to Fido. But more than likely, he just wants to hunt those little rascals for you.

May GOD richly Bless you as you seek different avenues to teach a gorgeous animal, who truly loves YOU. Not as much as GOD does, however; but still loves you...because it is YOU. Amen?

maybe u should put it up higher so the dog coodnt reach it? well idk cuz mabe ur dog is lil? cuz if its tiny then u should put it up where it can reach...or u can keep it in a room and like lock the door so the dog will never go in that room???? haha idk but i hope this helps :) good luick with ur fish!

your as stupid as putting the bowl on the floor!! Just put them in a boiler and give them to your dog, ok nvm that just put them in a higher place!!

put a lid with holes

put it higher

keep ur dog from entering the room

dont punish him when he does just give him a firm "NO!"

How do you know the fish like the openness? It's almost like your doing it to make it easier for the dog to get them. Either get rid of your gold fish of put a lid on the tank
it's as simple as that.
