I'm dog sitting for my brother for the weekend. It's an old Pembroke welsh corgi. I'm not exactly sure how old. Anyway, it's really late at night, and he's been whining. I have no idea why. I fed him and I took him out already. I stroked and petted him a lot too. Why is he whining? Could it be that he misses his owner? What do I do about this? How do I get him to stop?

He might need to go out again. He's probably anxious about his owner being away but I'd try taking him out again, just to be sure.

He may just be suffering from separation anxiety from his owner. One cute thing you could do is call up the owner on the phone and hold the phone against the dog's ear. Hearing its master's voice actually comforts dogs.

he will get over it sooner or later
but for now just give him his space and yeah he misses someone

he may miss his owner. it may be the unfamiliar surroundings. he might miss his bed. he might hear a dog or another animal outside. i'm sure he's fine and it's just from being away from his comfort zone.

poor pup just talk to him and tell him every things all right and maybe call your brother and have him talk to him to get him settled down he misses his dad. there just like children.

Its possible he misses the owner, or he might be in some sort of discomfort. Has he/she eaten something that he.she shouldn't have? did you inspect the dog physically and notice anything suspicious? make sure he/she is drinking water and staying cool. If it is persisting you have to call the owner/ call a vet.

Most likely he misses his owner. It should wear off in a while once the pup realizes that whining will not help. Just give him some space for a while or maybe call your brother up and let him talk to him.
It's an odd suggestion-I know
But it works

trust me
