I have a 10 month old collie/king charles mix dog, and we live out in the country. Recently I have heard from neighbours that my dog, and our neighbours dog who is a 3 year old retriever, are starting to wander around the roads. They seem to be getting the way out of traffic (the roads we live on are narrow, one car only roads and arent very busy) but it is still a worry.
The thing that worries me most is that it is coming into lambing season and I am very afraid they will hurt a lamb, or get shot/poisoned by a farmer who sees him around his sheep.
I suppose I have two questions
1) Will a collie/king charles pup attack a lamb?
2) How do I get him to stay around my house?
We have a very big garden and a huge field behind our hosue with no animals in it to run about in, and I really dont want to lock him up!! I also dont really have the money to fork out for one of those electric collars!
Also, my dog is a male, and ive heard getting him neutered will stop him roaming, but will he still roam if the other dog is not neutered, as I have offered to pay for my neighbours dog to have the operation( as I am eligable to get it done for £15).
Please please please help, as I love my dog and do not want to have to give him away or let him get killed by a farmer!!!
Please help!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, just to add, to Rayven, who told me to stop leaving my dog outside unsupervised...what am I supposed to do? Everyone says its cruel to have a dog inside a house 24/7, and now its cruel to let him run around outside! Please make up your mind.
I asked for advice, not a telling off!
Thank you!!
