...take her to the vet? My dog's due date was yesterday. She's panting and whining and has been doing this since early this morning. We did x-rays (more than a week ago) and they said she would more than likely be able to deliver on her own. The vet said not to wait more than two hours after she had hard contractions to bring her in for a C-section. I haven't seen her arch her back like he tells me it will be so I'm assuming she isn't having hard contractions yet. Is there anyone out there that knows anything about whelping puppies?
The vet told me not be be one of those people that panics when it doesn't happen right away. He said he gets dozens of calls from people that say their animal is having a hard time and that animal just needed more time. What I don't know is how long to wait before I panic.lol
My vet also kept telling me how much a C-section. I think he was trying to enforce in me that most people overract. So far I don't think it seems like they are hard contractions. Thank you so much for your answers so far!
UPDATE! I went to the vet and she is in labor. No puppies yet but they should be here by tomorrow morning. So I'm a little relieved but still really nervous about the whole situation. She has her little spot in my closet because that's where she wants to have them of all places.hahaha
