My dog is coughing/ gagging really bad, what do you think it is?

Mila jo is a two year old dog that got fixed a week and a half ago. In the last day or so she has developed a really bad cough/ gagging thing. She is an indoor dog so we think she couldn't have gotten into anything. But her cough happens at least every five minutes. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

make sure shes drinking enough water and if shes not then make her drink some with an eye dropper....it could be a range of thing depending on her breed.....could be a hair ball or kennel cough keep an eye on her and if it doesnt stop in a couple more days take her to a vet
