My dog is barking in a weird way?

I've had my yorkshire terrier for almost 7 years. He will turn 7 in october. Today i was noticing he was not barking like he usually does, i was like a high pitched scream. I am very worried , please give me an answer.!?;

he/ she might have throat problems that is what happened to my dog last month!

I'm not sure, but your dog is probably in pain (which would cause a change in his tone of voice). If this continues for several days, I recommend that you take him to the vet. You may very well have a reason to be worried. I know, for instance, that dogs can get cancer in their mouths. I hope this isn't the case. I honestly probably isn't; I'm not a vet.
