My dog has an extreme fear of a little bird bell I have. We used to have her ring it when she needed to go outside. Last week we had a party and my dumb cousins decided to ring it non stop. It scared my dog and she is really confused.
So now my dog is EXTREMELY terrified of this bell! She wont go near it even if it is on the ground not ringing.
Would it be best to gradually give treats while exposing her to it? or would it be best to use extreme exposure and just tie the bell to her collar and let her realize that it won't do any harm?
Well rather than tieing it to her collar, how about just ringing it for a good 10 minutes and letting her realize nothing bad will happen. How about ringing it for 5 minutes straight with endless treats for her?
Well I just tried to ring the bell and she started shaking! She jumped over the couch (which she knows she's not allowed on) and SPRINTED out of the room! She was just sitting there shaking in her bed! This bell legit terrifies her! What should I do? Ringing it obviously doesn't work!
