No my question is not should I bring him to the vet, because he was there for several days and is now home.
My little Basset Hound is now home, and is back to wagging his tale 5000 mph, licking people and thinking he's okay (he tries to jump and play with the other dogs but I stop this). My question is, is how come he doesn't bark anymore? He used to bark constantly, non-stop almost, and now he doesn't make a sound. Is this because I constrict his play, and crate him when I cannot watch him? I took all his toys and bones away (per the vet).
Also, is allowing him to sleep under an electric blanket bad? The vet gave him Rimadyl for pain, but it caused him to have loose stools, so they stopped it. I know when one of my other male dogs got neutered, he used to like to lay next to the heater and the vet said it's comforting. I have an electric blanket on my bed and Obi sleeps under it constantly.
I'm asking here now, but I am calling the vet this morning. Unfortunately they don't open until 10. Thank you all for your help.
The Rimadyl was being given to him with his food, and with rice mixed in. Because it was still causing him to have diarreha, the vet stopped it all together and now he has no pain killers. He seems to be in good spirits nontheless.
